Famagusta City Museum met with Sheffield University Architecture Students

MAKEMUD Board Member, Assoc. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nafia Akdeniz came together with Graduate Architecture students within the scope of the Famagusta field trip led by Dr. Esra Can Akbil from the Department of Architecture, University of Sheffield. "Spatial Memory and Cultural Narratives of Famagusta: Academic and Artistic Approaches", Akdeniz shared how his academic research, artistic studies and methodological approaches intersect and offered new perspectives on the culture and collective memory of the city.
In addition, Akdeniz explained the vision, mission and processes of the Famagusta City Museum Association and shared the results of two participatory workshops conducted by professional museums. During the meeting, the importance of protecting the cultural memory of Famagusta, keeping its heritage alive and strengthening the sense of belonging was emphasised.
