MAKEMÜD and UNFICYP: Cooperation under the Peacebuilding in Divided Societies Programme

MAKEMÜD members Nafia Akdeniz, Serap Kanay, and Hulusi Kilim participated in a workshop titled “The Role of Memory in Conflict and Peacebuilding” held in Larnaca on September 24, 2023. The event was organized by UNFICYP’s Peacebuilding in Divided Societies Programme team and attended by special invitation. The workshop focused on the role of memory and memory politics in the context of conflict, conflict transformation, and peace processes. The discussions during the event also opened the door to future cooperation between UNFICYP and the Famagusta City Museum Association (MAKEMÜD), highlighting the potential for joint initiatives in the field of shared heritage and dialogue.
